General FAQs

Our Quick Start Guide is the best resource to help walk you through the account creation process - please see "Step 1". We also have a Detailed Getting Started Guide if you prefer visuals and step-by-step instructions!

After completing the Orientation, which includes your intros to L.E., learning, wellbeing, and the self-assessment, you'll start your learning sessions.

We recommend setting aside at least 15-30 minutes a day for your sessions. This creates a focused rhythm and makes it easier to weave learning into your daily routine. Of course, you’re always welcome to spend more time with L.E. whenever it feels right for you.

Each week, L.E. will guide you with recommended activities to help you stay on track. We suggest aiming for at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week. This steady rhythm supports focus and progress, while still giving you flexibility to adjust the pace to your schedule.

At times, your screen may turn black as part of the Wrap Up feature, a private space for you and L.E. to check in on your mental health and wellbeing. Your responses are secure, confidential, and always anonymized to protect your privacy and safety.

These moments are important because they help you pause, reflect, and give L.E. the context needed to better support your overall wellbeing.

You can click the Wrap Up button in the top right corner of your learning session. We recommend closing each session with a Wrap Up and a brief breathing exercise with L.E. This helps you ground yourself and transition smoothly before leaving the app.

The app requires an internet connection so we can keep your progress up to date and deliver the most personalized learning experience. You won’t be able to use the platform offline, but once connected, everything will be saved and ready for you.

L.E. strives for accuracy, but like all AI, may occasionally make mistakes. If you notice something that doesn’t seem right, you can report it using the Feedback form button on the right side of your screen during a session, or tap and hold on a specific message to flag it to our team.

Troubleshooting FAQs

If L.E. provides incorrect information, report it through the Feedback option found on the right side of the screen while in a learning session. You can use that form to send your last few messages so our team can look into the issue.

Submit a support ticket though an email to support@matterandspace.com to report your issue and receive help. Mention what happened, when it happened, and if you’re unable to move forward in the app. Include any screenshots if you have them too!

If a video fails to play, restart the app or check your internet connection. Contact support if it still doesn't work for you.

If you forget your login information, look in your email for the subject line: "Matter and Space account creation confirmation". That email will tell you the account you signed up with.
If you can't find that email, feel free to contact support.

If you see a ‘not authorised’ message when creating your account, make sure you’re using the unique link in your registration email from Matter and Space. If the issue continues, please reach out to our support team for help.

Learning Experience FAQs

L.E. doesn’t currently communicate by voice and instead uses written responses to guide your learning. We’re exploring ways to bring L.E. a voice in the future.

L.E. uses dialogic learning, which means building knowledge through conversation. Asking questions helps you think, explain your reasoning, and connect new ideas to what you already know.

L.E. is designed to focus only on the structured program content, not external topics or general AI use cases.

L.E. can remember some details from your session, but may not retain everything between sessions to protect your privacy.

Wellbeing FAQs

When you connect your wearable, the app can offer more personalized insights about your wellbeing. It also helps us learn how effectively we’re connecting health, balance, and learning in your experience. In this early pilot, your wearable data helps us establish a clear baseline for the app.

The wellbeing self-assessment intake is made of validated measures of wellbeing and attention that assess mood, attention, resilience, and thinking patterns. These measures are not diagnostic. Instead, they are designed to help learners understand themselves more fully and see how emotional, physical, and cognitive factors interact to influence learning and performance.

Data Privacy FAQs

For legal, privacy, or compliance-related questions, email info@matterandspace.com.

Because this is a pilot, members of the product and research team will review your intake and follow-up responses. These data help us identify trends, usability issues, and opportunities to improve the user experience. All data will be stored securely, and only authorized team members will have access.

Since this is a small pilot and we will be conducting small focus group follow-ups, we cannot fully de-identify individual responses. If you are comfortable having your mood and attention scores reviewed by the team, please complete the intake as-is. If you prefer not to share this information, you may either select “no symptoms” for all items or enter random responses. Your participation in the rest of the pilot will not be affected by this choice.

All data is stored using encrypted systems that meet industry standards for data protection. No personally identifiable information will be shared outside the development team.
