Orientation: October 2026 Pilot

Welcome to the Matter and Space October 2026 pilot. This orientation guide is your reference for what to expect and how to get started.

To help set the stage, please watch this short Pilot Orientation video before you dive in. Then, read on for an overview of what to expect during this pilot, what's expected of you as a learner, and how to get started today.

A Note on Safety and Privacy

Matter and Space is a learning tool, not an emergency, crisis-response, or reporting service. Conversations are not monitored in real time. If you need immediate help, call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or call or text 988. SNHU employees can also contact the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 24/7 at 800-647-9151 (dial #1).

Messages suggesting a risk of harm to yourself or others automatically receive these resources in-app. A small group of designated reviewers generally reviews flagged messages during normal business operations. They see only the flagged message and a few surrounding messages, without your name or profile, and pass along only concerns that appear credible.

Conversations are de-identified. If a reviewed message reasonably suggests a serious or imminent risk of harm, SNHU HR may be notified to determine next steps. In exceptional circumstances, HR may authorize limited re-identification — name and email only — to contact the person or involve emergency services. SNHU HR, not MAS reviewers, makes these decisions, and any such action is documented.

Pilot Orientation: Overview & Expectations

Pilot Dates

The October 2026 Matter and Space pilot runs ten weeks from Tuesday, October 13 through Friday, December 18.

Pilot Goals

Validate that the end-to-end experience works at scale without significant friction, and to collect product testing feedback on the adaptive features, personalized content, and wellbeing tools within the Matter and Space experience.

Communications

Our main method of communication with you will be emails sent to your SNHU email address. At the start of each week, we'll send the same three-part update: this week's asks, any open feedback opportunities, and support and reminders. We'll send additional emails throughout the weeks as needed.

Feedback Opportunities

Your feedback is one of the most important outcomes of this pilot. There will be multiple survey and optional user interview opportunities throughout the pilot, and details will be provided via email as these become available. You are always able to submit in-app or off-app feedback at any time.

Program Pacing

The program is self-paced. Work through it on whatever schedule fits you best. To stay on track, we recommend pacing yourself with about 4 to 6 hours a week. Try to complete as much of the program as possible in these 10 weeks for the best experience.

Curriculum

The learning curriculum is a Generative AI Program composed of 5 courses. Courses 2-5 have a final summative assessment included. Your wellbeing curriculum will start in Foundations for Flourishing, followed by a choice of elective: Communication, Exercise, or Meditation.

Get Support

This website, the Learner Support Hub, is your best reference for FAQs, how-tos, surveys, communications, and more. You can drop in for launch office hours this week (see launch day email for details), and you can always reach out to us at support@matterandspace.com.

Get Started Today

Getting started ASAP and aiming for about 4-6 hours a week will help you stay on track. If you're waiting on a wearable from Matter and Space, get started anyway; you can always connect it later.
