What are the wellbeing self-assessment questionnaires? Why do I need to take them more than once?
What the wellbeing self-assessment questionnaires are, and why you encounter them a few time throughout your pilot experience
What are the wellbeing self-assessment questionnaires?
The wellbeing self-assessment questionnaires are short, research-validated questionnaires that help us measure how the program supports wellbeing and learning for learners. They are not diagnoses or clinical assessments, but instead serve as snapshots of how you're doing. We use them to track change over time.
Why am I being asked to complete wellbeing questionnaires again?
At the start of the program, you completed a set of wellbeing questionnaires during onboarding. You'll complete the same set again at the midway point, and again near the end of the program.
Matter and Space is built on the belief that stronger human development skills lead to better learning. These skills include managing stress, focusing your attention, coping with difficult moments, and bouncing back from setbacks. Repeating the questionnaires lets us see how things changed from your starting point.
When will I see them?
Roughly mid-way and near the end of your program, the app will ask you to complete the questionnaires before taking you back to your learning. You must complete the questionnaires before you will be brought back to the homepage.
What do the questionnaires cover?
There are six short, research-validated questionnaires that are the same set of questions you answered during your onboarding to the app:
- Mood (PHQ-8): how much you've been feeling down, low on energy, or less interested in things.
- Anxiety (GAD-7): how much you've been feeling nervous, on edge, or worried.
- Attention (ASRS): how much you struggle to stay organized, follow through on tasks, and sit still.
- Coping (BEAQ): how you tend to cope with thoughts and feelings.
- Thinking (Cognitive Fusion): how much you get caught up in your thoughts.
- Resilience: how well you bounce back from stress.
These questionnaires are not diagnoses or clinical assessments. They are snapshots of how you're doing, and we use them to track change over time.
How is my data used?
Your responses help us measure how the program supports wellbeing and learning. For more information on how your data is protected and handled, please see the "How do you protect my data?" article. You can also see the "How is my wellbeing or wearable data used in the learning experience?" article for information on the use of that data in-app.
