General FAQs

The Getting Started page serves as your step-by-step guide to ensure you're set up well for the pilot.

You can submit bugs and feedback either in-app or off-app. Please review the Submit Bugs & Feedback page for details.

Review and complete the instructions on the Downloading TestFlight page.

After that, review and complete the instructions on the Installing the LE-1 MAS App page.

After completing the in-app onboarding, you'll be directed to the homepage, where you can start your onboarding sessions.

Each learning session ranges from 5-30 minutes in the app. There is no limit to the number of learning sessions per day.

We recommend a goal of 4-6 hours a week to stay on track to complete the course within the pilot's 6 weeks.

Aim for 4-6 hours a week to stay on track for completion by the end of the 6 week pilot. However, you can do this program at whatever pace suits you, and there are no hard expectations for progress each week.

There are three courses in the Generative AI Program, each with 3 modules. Each module is named with the prefix "Week #:", offering suggested goals for pacing. You can see your Program details on the Learning Progress / Journey page in app.

L.E. strives for accuracy, but like all AI, may occasionally make mistakes. If you notice something that doesn’t seem right, you can report it using the Feedback form button on the right side of your screen during a session, or tap and hold on a specific message to flag it to our team.

The app requires an internet connection so we can keep your progress up to date and deliver your personalized learning experience.

Once you connect back to the internet, everything will be saved and ready for you to jump back in.

At times, your screen may turn dark to indicate a private wellness experience. Most notably, you'll notice this in the Wind Down, which occurs at the end of every learning session.

Anything you see or interact with on these dark pages is de-identified, and never linked to your personal information.

These moments are important because they help you pause, reflect, and give L.E. the context needed to better support your overall wellbeing.

No, we haven't communicated who's enrolled in the pilot to anyone outside the team. Only individual participants receive communications about their own participation, and only our learner-facing team knows who's enrolled. Their access is kept separate from the de-identified app data, to reduce any risk of identifying individual participants.

You're welcome to be as private or as public about your participation as you'd like.

Troubleshooting FAQs

Details on how to submit bug reports can be found on the Submit Bugs & Feedback page.

Here's the quick link to the Bug report form for ease. Including screenshots will help us troubleshoot more effectively.

If you are blocked from moving forward, please submit a support ticket though an email to support@matterandspace.com to report your issue and receive help. Mention what happened, when it happened, and if you’re unable to move forward in the app. Include any screenshots if you have them too!

If L.E. provides incorrect information, report it through the Feedback form found on the right side of the screen while in a learning session. You can use that form to send your last few messages so our team can look into the issue.

If a video fails to play, restart the app or check your internet connection. Submit a bug, or contact support with details on your current learning session if it still doesn't work for you.

If you have any issues with content and you'd be willing to try a different learning method instead, you can also ask L.E. to present the info a different way.

If you forget your login information, look in your email for the subject line: "Matter and Space account creation confirmation". That email will tell you the account you signed up with.

If you can't find that email, feel free to contact support.

If you see a ‘not authorized’ message when creating your account, make sure you’re using the unique link in your registration email from Matter and Space. If the issue continues, please reach out to our support team for help.

Learning Experience FAQs

The Generative AI Program is a three course program that spans 6 weeks. For more details about the structure and what you'll learn, please see the What to Expect - Generative AI Program resource.

This is an adaptation of the SNHU Skills Generative AI program to the MAS platform, so some content may be duplicative for those who have completed the Skills course.

L.E. will remember details across your experience, but may not retain everything. Some of the things L.E. does remember are:

  • Instructions you give L.E. to personalize sessions to your learning style

  • Your learning format preferences

  • Your goals, context, values, and skills

  • The way you respond or engage with L.E.

L.E. uses dialogic learning, which is building knowledge through conversation. Asking questions helps you think, explain your reasoning, and connect or apply new concepts to what you already know.

Yes! As you go through the curriculum, let L.E. know what you want out of your sessions. L.E. will adjust things like format, feedback, and approach, wherever it's able to. Give it a try and see what happens. You can always adjust again if it's not quite right.

You can interact with L.E. through the use of voice to text. Use the microphone icon when in a learning session to talk to L.E.

L.E. doesn’t currently communicate by voice and instead uses written responses to guide your learning. We’re exploring ways to bring L.E. a voice in the future.

Speaking punctuation

Say punctuation marks out loud as you go, and they'll be added to your text:

  • "period" for .
  • "comma" for ,
  • "question mark" for ?
  • "exclamation point" for !
  • "new line" or "new paragraph" to start a new line

Best practices

  • Speak at a normal, steady pace. Speaking too fast or too slow can affect accuracy.
  • Find a quiet space when possible; background noise can affect accuracy.
  • Review and edit your dictated text before submitting. Speech-to-text isn't perfect, and a quick read-through catches most errors.

L.E. is designed to focus only on the structured program content, not external topics or general AI use cases.

Wellbeing FAQs

All learners start in Foundations for Flourishing. This curriculum introduces the core ideas and practices that support how you think, feel, and grow, building the self-awareness you'll draw on throughout the program.

After completing Foundations, you'll have the chance to choose between 3 electives: Communication, Exercise, or Meditation. In these electives, you'll build practical skills to support your goals, habits, and wellbeing in the areas that matter most to you.

When you connect your wearable, the app can offer more personalized insights about your wellbeing. It also helps us learn how effectively we’re connecting health, balance, and learning in your experience. In this early pilot, your wearable data helps us establish a clear baseline for the app.

For instructions on connecting your wearable, please see the Connect Your Wearable page.

The wellbeing self-assessment intake is made of validated measures of wellbeing and attention that assess mood, attention, resilience, and thinking patterns.

These measures are not diagnostic. Instead, they are designed to help learners understand themselves more fully and see how emotional, physical, and cognitive factors interact to influence learning and performance.

Learners will take this self-assessment during in-app onboarding, and once more towards the end of the program.

At times, your screen may turn black as part of the Wind Down feature, a private space for you and L.E. to check in on your mental health and wellbeing. Your responses are private and always de-identified to protect your privacy and safety.

These moments are important because they help you pause, reflect, and give L.E. the context needed to better support your overall wellbeing.

Data Privacy FAQs

Members of the product and research team will review your data in de-identified form. Data from this pilot helps us identify trends, usability issues, and opportunities to improve the user experience. While Matter and Space removes personally identifiable information wherever possible, participants should be aware that in a limited pilot group, the content of reflections or conversations, even without your name attached, may be recognizable to others reviewing aggregated findings. We encourage participants to keep this in mind when deciding what to share. You are never required to share personal or sensitive information in reflections.

All participant data is stored securely on an encrypted, password-protected server and will not be shared outside of the research team. Wherever possible, personally identifiable information will be removed to protect your privacy.
